M.F.A. Technical Direction and Production, Northern Illinois University, 2009;
B.S. Theatre, Northern Michigan University, 1994

Theatre Planning is not a licensed profession.

Scott came to FDA in September 2013 from all corners of the world, having spent a majority of the previous two decades as a technician, production rigger, production manager, entertainment technical supervisor and, finally, a consultant for many major cruise lines.

Scott is the currently FDA’s principal rigging and automation designer on David Geffen Hall in New York, NYU Coles Center, Omaha Performing Arts Center, as well as the Rice University Opera House. He is also collaborating on the Yale Schwarzman Center, Milwaukee Bradley Symphony Center, and the College of the Holy Cross Performing Arts Center.

While his time on cruise ships has taken him to exotic locales, Scott has also worked domestically, touring with major Broadway shows, as a member of the installation and show crew for the 1996 Olympic Ceremonies in Atlanta, Georgia, and spending a number of years as the production rigger for Harley Davidson.

He has designed and managed unique manual and automated performer flying systems for Sight & Sound Theatres, The Power Station Club in Singapore, and the original Broadway production of Curtains.

Scott received his M.F.A. in technical direction & production from Northern Illinois University.
