Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC)
Since 1983 the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center, an outdoor amphitheater on the campus of Finger Lakes Community College, has hosted a variety of events during the summer months. It has been a venue for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the site of other musical performances including, a full concert schedule, for College as well as community activities. The College retains the services of the Rochester Broadway Theatre League as the promoter and programming agent for performances in the space.
The performing arts center has been renovated to upgrade the facility and to expand seating from 2,700 to 5,000 seats under cover and 10,000 or more on the lawn. FDA consulted on the design and sightlines of VIP seating areas, a new stage and orchestra shell, and new stage rigging and lighting systems. The project began in September 2005 and was completed in summer 2006. The state-of-the-art facility is now an attractive venue for an expanded slate of performing arts activities as well as a practical laboratory for some of the College’s educational programs.
